PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION
Fostering a spirit of inclusion, partnership and cooperation among the entire school community
Somersfield Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
The Somersfield Parent Teacher Association (PTA) supports the school's philosophy, programmes and activities for the benefit of all Somersfield students. The PTA encourages and coordinates volunteerism and fosters a spirit of inclusion, partnership and cooperation among the entire school community.

OUR PURPOSE
The Somersfield Parent Teacher Association supports the mission of the Academy by:
-
Organising and promoting volunteerism from the parent body
-
Raising funds to provide facilities/programmes that are deemed necessary and would not otherwise be provided
The Somersfield PTA organises a number of social and fundraising events throughout the school year: the Back to School Barbecue, the Spring Fair and Spring Raffle, the Budding Chef competition and the Eco-Shopping events to name a few. All of these events are not only fundraisers for our Parent Teacher Association but school community events that would not be possible without the support of our many volunteers.
At Somersfield, PTA events are sent out to parents via email, and posted on the school's website Blackboard, Facebook page, and on the Parent Relations Notice Board.
The Somersfield PTA is run by an elected Executive Committee. These positions are elected annually at the general meeting of the members of the PTA by May 31st of each year.
