School Divisions

Divisions

Our levels and classes are divided into four divisions that encompass Montessori and IB curriculum and teaching methodologies: Children’s House, Primary Division, Secondary Division, and the IB Diploma Programme. Each division has a distinct curriculum curated specifically to deliver our international, future-ready education.

  • The Children’s House encompasses multi-aged classrooms for students ages 3 to 6-years of age. The classrooms are prepared Montessori environments designed to encourage children in their self-directed discovery of the world. Maria Montessori believed that the ages from 3 to 6 are the most critical period for nurturing a child’s natural curiosity and for laying the foundation for all future development which is why we strive to constantly create environments that keep this joy of discovery alive. Our rich learning environments are staffed by skilled, observant teachers whose central mission is to support the unfolding of each individual child’s potential. We recognize that every child is unique, and we are committed to nurturing and respecting those distinctive qualities in each child while guiding them to reach their highest intellectual, emotional, and social potential.

  • Our Primary programme provides a rich learning experience for students ages 6 to 11 by providing a carefully planned, stimulating environment which helps children to develop habits, attitudes, skills and ideas essential for a lifetime of critical thinking and learning. Our students are both reflective, balanced and inquirers who take academic risks and constantly seek out knowledge. Above all else, our students at Somersfield Academy are global citizens who show compassion for each other. Our dedicated teaching faculty are caring and committed to teaching and working for the best interest of their students.
